Perc is Ali Wells: Hertfordshire to London, founder of Perc Trax (2004) and one of British techno’s most uncompromising operators — Wicker & Steel (2011), The Power & The Glory (2014), the label’s best-seller Bitter Music (2017), and The Cut Off (2024). Droney, industrial-tinged, post-punk in the wiring.
The complex knew him before there was anything to file. In the early 2000s — before ‘The Difference It Makes’ was even written — three musicians in their early twenties crossed paths and stayed in contact. Two of them opened the complex two decades later; the third had spent the years between building Perc Trax into an institution. The DBC002 B1 isn’t a commission so much as a long-overdue entry into the same ledger.
